Raised by hard-working parents who immigrated in pursuit of a better life, Jules has always been encouraged to excel academically and pursue stability. However, since first picking up their uncle’s old guitar, Jules has been magnetically drawn to music—sneaking out to basement shows and open-mic nights. Forming a band provided a sense of belonging and empowerment, forging close friendships with bandmates who share similar dreams and pressures. Despite their natural talent, Jules faces skepticism from both family and teachers, who see music as a risky distraction. As the band gains momentum, opportunities—and tough decisions—multiply: balancing school, family loyalty, and the lure of possible stardom. Each new gig, challenge, and turning point becomes a step on Jules’s personal journey toward self-realization and acceptance.
